Zhunheremuyinsumu region of Inner Mongolia belongs to hilly grassland area. With much land and few people, no industrial pollution, less affected by human activities, it is the ideal place to study the geochemical reference value. Through the regional soil geochemical survey, more than 2000 soil sample data as the foundation, by repeatedly removing method, the article received geochemical reference values of six kinds of heavy metals(Cr, Pb, As, Cu, Ni, Zn). Dividing the statistical unit, determining geochemical reference values of each unit, using the area weighted method to determine the geochemical reference value, and study the geochemical reference values’ characteristics. In addition, in order to verify representative of the samples collected from the bottom of the lake, this paper collected lake sediment samples in the center of the lake, and establish the geochemical reference values. The following is the results obtained in this paper:1. Using the iterative method to get the geochemical reference values of six heavy metals in the soil, including, As 4.75mg/kg, Cr 18.55 mg/kg, Pb 11.30 mg/kg, Cu 4.01mg/kg, Zn 16.42 mg/kg, Ni 4.08 mg/kg.2. Through analysis the geological reference values of every statistics unit, the region of high geochemical reference value is lacustrine zone, Cretaceous Damoguaihe group, Cretaceous baiyingaolao group, Carboniferous Baoligaomiao group A; the region of lower geochemical reference value is Carboniferous of intrusive rock zone; geochemical reference value of alluvial area is close to the reference value of all region.3. The geochemical reference values determined by area weighted method and iteration method is similar.4. Establish the geochemical reference value of six heavy elements in the sediments from the bottom of the lake. Compared with the geochemical reference value of all region, the content of As, Pb is close to the geochemical reference value of corresponding elements of all region, the content of Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn is higher than that of the reference value of all region. The geochemical reference value of As, Pb in the bottom of the lake sediment samples collected from the study area can present the geochemical reference value of the corresponding elements; some elements like Cr, Cu, Zn, Ni,their geochemical reference value can’t represent the reference value of the corresponding elements...
