Eggs are easy to be cataclastic damaged in the process of frequent handling and market selling as one kind of the main food with high nutritional value in our daily life. The characteristics which is easy to tumble and fragile makes it important that the eggs must be prevent with the drop impact from collecting, sorting, packaging, processing, depositing to transportation trade. In our daily life, most of the eggs are damaged by dynamic load. This paper studied the dynamic mechanical properties during the drop impact of the egg by building a finite elements model based on the fluid-solid coupling theory. This study summarized the effect of the loading condition during the impact of the egg with different impact parts, different drop height and different buffer material, which is provide reference for the modeling of eggs. Scanned the shape of the egg with 3DCaMega five-axis automatic optical scanning system, which can draw a complete egg’s shape and simplify the process of egg modeling during the process of building an egg’s geometric model. Considered of the coupling interaction between the fluid part and solid part, the role of structure and fluid were modeling respectively. The simulation data of the loading condition during the drop impact of the egg were taken by FSI coupling calculation and verified by the data of the drop test. The limit height of the egg on a certain kind of buffer material was obtained by the model based on fluid-solid coupling theory, which provides a theoretical basis for the impairment of eggs and egg processing equipment optimization design. The innovation point in this paper was building the geometric model by scanning the shape of the egg with reverse engineering, and establishing a finite element model of egg by using the fluid-solid coupling theory and discussing the loading condition during the drop of egg.
