This paper summarized the metallogenic geological background of East Junggar, Xinjiang province, and is based on the previous study of remote sensing geological prospecting technology to carry out the research the area’s Landsat7 remote sensing anomaly information extraction.Combined with the regional metallogenic geological characteristics and alteration information in the East Junggar, selected the key areas.At the same time, using the data of Landsat8, ASTER and SPOT6 of the key areas, carried out remote sensing geological interpretation、alteration information extraction and alteration mineral portfolio information extraction.Finally, synthetically combined the analysis the key areas’ prospecting characteristics, such as remote sensing geological interpretation information、remote sensing alteration information and so on, with the evidence of SPOT6 high resolution satellite images, forecast the remote sensing favorable areas for ore prediction and delimitated the remote sensing prospecting areas.Through this research, the main results are:1. Summarized the metallogenic geological background of the study area, and acquired various types of satellite images of the study area.2. Making Laoyemiao-Qiongheba study area’s satellite images.3. Based on Landsat7 satellite data, using remote sensing anomaly extraction technology extracted study area‘s remote sensing alteration information(including hydroxylate and ferric contamination anomaly information); screened out of the Mengxi and its western region、 Keziletage near area、Shayisu North-mountain area near and Heiyuanshan northern area, four key areas.4. Completed 4 key areas’ remote sensing geological interpretation。Based on the Landsat8 satellite data, the hydroxylate and ferric contamination anomaly information were extracted.In Mengxi and its western region using ASTER data extracted the argillization-phyllic alteration、propylitization alteration information.5. Synthetically analyzed the key areas’ remote sensing characteristics, those are:(1)The strata related to mineralization are mainly included:(1)Middle-Upper Ordovician Huangcaopo group,(2)Middle-Upper Carboniferous Haerjiawu group,(3)Lower Carboniferous heishantou group, etc. These strata are the important source rock series in the study area;(2)The intermediate acid intrusive rocks of the high-plagioclase granite and the potash feldspar granite are closely related to the mineralization of the area;(3)The hydroxyl alteration could provide an important reference for the copper and gold ore prospecting work in the area of hydrothermal solution;(4)Some faults in the study area provide favorable conditions for the intrusion of the rock mass, which promotes the mineralization to some extent.6. Carried out comprehensive analysis and evaluation. Mengxi and its western region、Heiyuanshan north region and Shayisu North-mountain near area,these three key areas‘ metallogenic conditions and prospecting information are relative superiority。Keziletage is worse.In the four key areas including 22 remote sensing prospecting areas, 10 of them favorable prospecting areas were found the surface exploration traces in high resolution satellite images.
