The study area is an intermediate landform between the Sichuan Basin and the Qinling orogenic belt. The Sedimentary facies of the study area in early Triassic lacks systematic and unified research. There are mainly three kinds of views on the tectonic setting of the area: craton, passive continental margin and rift-craton. This article focused on Early Triassic sedimentary and tectonic setting of Chengkou-Wuxi area, South Daba Mountain. This research not only have the valuable theoretical importance but also have the meaningful practical significanceThis article, guided by the theories of Petrology, sedimentology, Basin analysis and other disciplines, based on summarizing previous research results, using the method of field investigations, measurement of geologic section, thin section analysis and comprehensive analysis, make a further discussion of Early Triassic sedimentary and tectonic setting of Chengkou-Wuxi area, South Daba Mountain. Major work, knowledge and results are summarized as follows:1. This article, analyzing the sedimentary facies of Lower Triassic strata, not only suggested the deep water carbonates of Daye Formation were stable bathyal deposits which spread over the carbonate slope, but also confirmed the carbonate breccias of Jialingjiang Formation are evaporitesolution breccia which formed in sabkha.2. This article ascertained the evolution rules of Early Triassic sedimentary sedimentary facies. The sedimentary facies of lower Triassic are characterized by a carbonate platform of accreting eastward horizontally and a sedimentary succession of shallowing upward vertically, including slope face, platform edge facies, restricted platform and evaporate platform. Early Triassic sedimentary environments of study area converted carbonate ramp to carbonate platform.3. This article confirmed Early Triassic tectonic setting of the study area is passive continental margin and the uprift of Daba Mountain Ancient Land hindered sea-water circulation.
