Reservoir types and distribution of the inter-layer has an important influence on the later oilfield development. Reasonably making use of inter-layer can relieve the contradictions of inside layer, improve and enhance the effect of heavy oil reservoir development. Du 84 block is located in the middle of the slope of western sag of Liaohe depression. At present, The research about characteristics of inter-layer insulation research in du 84 block Xing Ⅱ is less. So the recognition methods and features of inter-layer, and describing the distribution of inter-layer is of great significance for characterization of reservoir geological characteristics and the remaining oil distribution. In this paper, based on core and well logging data, guided by the theory of high resolution sequence stratigraphy, combining with the depositional cycle, to more than 1600 Wells in layers of fine division and correlation, high-precision stratigraphic framework in the study area is established, the Xing Ⅱ oil layer group is divided into upper and lower two sandstone series, each sandstone series is divided into two small layers, a total of four small layer. Through cycle analysis of the base level, Xing Ⅱ overall is in a long-term base-level rising cycle, there are multi-period cyclicity and major development short-term base-level rising cycles, embody the characteristics of lake basin type expansion rifling sedimentary sequence. Further small layer thickness of each small layer is calculated and the figure Xing Ⅱ reservoir formation thickness is drawn, draw Xing Ⅱ reservoir has the characteristics that northeast is thick and southwest is thin, and inheritance of the each small layer develops. The lithology of Xing Ⅱ reservoir is mainly the conglomerate and glutenite, conglomeratic sandstone, sandstone, anisometric sandstone, mudstone, etc. Xing Ⅱ formation sedimentary period is the expansion of the basin, basin scope expands unceasingly, river flowed into the lake basin from the north and west. Source is close and debris supply is adequate, so the fan delta front deposition was form in the study area.Through description of cored wells and key wells, the logging curve cross-plot was mapped, and then spider diagram and logging curve recognition template was made. After that, the template in cored Wells were generalized in the whole district to recognize inter-layer for the whole regions. the main types inter-layer in the region are argillaceous inter-layer and physical properties inter-layer, calcareous intercalated bed is not development in this area. physical interlayer can be form in following 3 circumstances: fine-grained sediment above channel sand body because of the rise of lake level and the migration of channel, stranded deposits above erosion surface owing to the weakened hydrodynamic force, bottom sediment caused by fluvial incision of later channel.
