Jiangsu, located in the east coastal areas of China which belongs to the temperate-subtropical transitional climate, is rich of water. The statistical precipitation of Jiangsu is between 660~1617 mm, and it is a frequent flood disaster areas. Therefore study and distribution characteristics of precipitation of Jiangsu could provide important scientific basis for the reasonable utilization and development of water resources, as well as preventing and reducing natural disasters.Through a large number of domestic and foreign relevant research, combined with "The System Record for the Ground Meteorological Record Report Monthly",the results obtained are as follows:(1)The precipitation of Jiangsu decreased from 1960 to 1998 and increased between 1998 and 2012 by ensemble empirical mode decomposition. The spectrum analysis show that the interannual period is 2.3 years and 5.4 years, and the interdecadal period is 10.8 years and 26.9 years. The complexity of precipitation presents the strip distribution while it increases first and decreases from south to north by approximate entropy.(2) This paper studied the spatial correlation of precipitation in July 2013 in Jiangsu province using the geostatistics model. The result shows that the powered exponential family which the parameter with Box-Cox transformations of λ=0.5 has a better effect by comparing the powered exponential family, Matern family and the spherical family. Finally, this geostatistics model is applied to simulate the precipitation of Changzhou and Huaian monitoring stations by using the simple Kriging, and it shows a better approximate effect.(3)Through the study of Jiangsu Province precipitation temporal and spatial distribution by the empirical orthogonal function and rotated empirical orthogonal function, and the results show that places like Changzhou,Dongtai,Nanjing characterise the class I rain type; distribution of precipitation anomalies in North Jiangsu and South Jiangsu two, which belongs to the class II rain type. Nanjing and Xuyi change reversely from other regions of Jiangsu Province. According to the rotated empirical orthogonal function divided Jiangsu Province into three areas, the class Ⅰ includes Xuzhou,Ganyu,Xuyi, Sheyang,Dongtai. The category Ⅱ includes are Nanjing,Changzhou. The category Ⅲ includes Nantong, Lvsi, Liyang and Wuxiandongshan.
