Geographic information system,GIS is a hot discussion in today’s society,geographic information became more and more important to human beings,and in the face of vast amounts of geographic information data,how to properly storage and manage them are becoming a hot issue nowadays.At the same time,the development of cloud computing technology has given this question a reasonable and reliable solution.GIS data stored in the cloud platform,not only cost lower,but also will have higher security,at the same time,for the vast amounts of GIS data,using cloud computing technology processing,its efficiency is much higher than on single platform processing.In this paper,we use Hadoop,a very popular cloud platform nowadays,to discuss for the storage and management of GIS data,but because of the characteristics of GIS data,is not suitable for storing them in Hadoop directly,this article will focus on three main formats in open source GIS data to storage and manage with Hadoop.First,the image data,for image data,we adopt the Key-Value of image data storage model,putting the image data into HBase according to the characteristics of the HBase on its index,improve the efficiency of management;The second type of data is geographical spatial information data which called point of interest data,because of its characteristics fit the HBase database well,so we only need word segmentation tools for processing,and establish a spatial index;The last category which is the most difficult point is tile data because the Hadoop is not suitable for store similar tiles data file,we use SquenceFiles tools to pack the tile data,at the same time we use the Hilbert algorithm to code them according to the geographical location of tile data,it will improve the query efficiency of tile data,finally,we put the tile data into the HBase according to its hierarchy and its coding,and establish the index.
