Honghai deposit is a large volcanic massive sulphide Cu(Zn) deposit in Kalatag district, Xinjiang province, which is discovery and explored by Beijing Institute of Geology for Mineral Resources in recent years, the deposit is located in the northern edge of the Central Tianshan Massif, in the north of Dananhu-Tou Suquan Paleozoic accretionary arc zone, and this district has good metallogenic conditions and abundant mineral resources. This paper researches and analysis the form, occurrence and size of ore body, the component, type and structure of ore, mineral association, wall-rock alteration and the zonation in three-dimensional space of ore body, ore, mineral, alteration and elements through the collection of the data, geological survey and comprehensive research work. The Scanning Electron Microscopy and Spectroscopy is used to explore the enriched characteristics of Au, also, the paper discusses the ore genesis, summarizes the indicator of the deposit, and delineates the prospecting target of VMS deposit in kalatag distrit. According to the research above, the paper obtains the following understandings and results:1. The ore body of Honghai deposit mainly occurs in the ignimbrite and volcaniclastic rock which belong to middle Ordovician Huangcaopo Group Daliugou Formation, the ore body has dualistic structure-massive ore body+vein ore body.2. The ore structure mainly includes massive, dissemination, fine-grain and vein, (1) The type and mineral assemblage in massive ore has clear zoning characteristics, in the vertical direction, from the bottom to the top of the ore body, the type of ore changes from massive Cu-Zn ore to massive Zn-Cu ore, the variation of mineral association is pyrite+chalcopyrite±tetrahedrite± sphaleriteâ†'chalcopyrite+sphalerite±tetrahedrite±galena±pyrite, (2) The type of ore in the vein ore body is Cu-Fe ore, the mineral assemblage is chalcopyrite+pyrite.3. The main elements of Honghai deposit are Cu, Zn, accompanying a small amount of Pb, Au and Ag, The grade of Cu in the massive ore body becomes lower from the inner to outer, there are negative correlation between the grade of Cu and Zn, the grade variation of Cu in the vein ore does not have obvious change, the grade of Cu in the massive ore is higher than that in the vein ore.4. The alteration type in the hanging wall, footwall of ore body and the ore body itself is different. the alteration range and intensity of the vein ore body in the footwall is much large and strong, the main types of alteration have silicification, pyritization, sericitization, muscovitization, epidotization, chloritization, albitization, carbonation, barite and so on, the alteration intensity in the footwall is the strongest, Some light alterations ocurr in the hanging wall and the ore body.5. The element of Au in Honghai deposit exits in the surface, edge and fracture of ore mineral by the form of enclave. The Au mainly enrich on the top of the massive ore body, and co-exist with pyrite, sphalerite, galena. The cause of Au enrichment due to the submarine volcanic mineralization.6. The Re-Os isochron age of chalcopyrite and the Ar-Ar isochron age of sericitization represent the ore-forming age is 434Ma.7. According to the research of Honghai VMS deposit, The paper predicts one favorable area for prospecting:southern extension of Honghai predicting area.
