Magnetotelluric sounding method has been one important geophysical method for the research of Earth’s interior electricity structure nowadays. It is widely used in many aspects, such as geological formations detection, prediction of earthquakes, oil and gas exploration, mineral prospecting and exploration, geological engineering, electrical crust and upper mantle structure in areas such as research and marine geophysics. With the development of three dimensional magnetotelluric inversion theory and the improvement of computer hardwares, three-dimensional inversion is slowly come to be true. For the differences of the platforms between the inversion program and other sofwares, it would be hard to handle the inversion program. Looking for the differences of platform between three-dimensional program and commonly used platform, analyzing the actual demand of three dimensional inversion, this paper is mainly about the remote control resarch, which based on a three-dimensional inversion program, to connect the two different platforms and make 3D inversion comfortable to normal users. It contains four modules: model building, data preparations, remote control and job submitting.Model building module, it can generate models basing on the sites. The blocks of model in xyz directions are shown as grid and can be edited by user easily. The resistivity model are shown in two ways:caculation or physics, which can be edited by users with mouse or numerical value.Data preparation module, it shows the data informations when input the data files, users can seclect and edit the sites and datas for the inversion. And, the inversion’s parameters can be set through parameter set dialog easily.Remote control module, it encapsulates common commands of inversion program basing on SSH protocol, which contains commands like, starting inversion, receive the inversion conditions and transfer files. It connects Windows and Linux. Instead of working on Linux directly, what common users need to do is just clicking buttons with different functions on Windows and then watch the inversion program working.Job submitting module, it is deployed on Linux with inversion program. Cooperating with remote control moudule, it administrates different inversion caculations jobs which sent by different users. By receiving the inversion command sent from Windows, this module dose as what the command ask to do:to start, to stop or to delete inversion caculation jobs, etc.
