The debris flow is a kind of geological disaster with extreme destructive power, and can not be effectively predicted and prevented, and the mechanism of debris flow is always being a key and difficult subject for the researchersBy the model experiments in the laboratory, the unconstrained slide and accumulation of gravel on an inclined board were studied. The varied parameters were volume, gravel size, shape, fall height, the angel of promoter region, constraint angle of slope toe, and friction coefficient of basal surface, and their effect on the final deposit characteristics (run-out, width, thickness, and area) were investigated. At the same time, the effects of the gradient of slope and the chute sidewall on the acumulation scope and acumulation characteristics are investigated. The results show that increase of deposit volume, granule size, slope height, the angel of promoter region, constrained angle of slope toe, and reduction of friction coefficient of basal surface will expand the scope of the final accumulation. The study can confirm that deposit volume, friction coefficient of basal surface, gravel shape, and constrained angle of slope toe are the most significant factors which can influence the run-out and accumulation area, in addition, slope height and deposit volume are still significant for the width. The chute outlet width is the significant factor influencing the finally accumulation scope, while the influence of the chute entrance width is smaller. In the process of landslide movement, the sliding body will occur large deformation, even develop into debris flow. In the conventional slice method, the internal energy dissipation occurred by the deformation and inter-collision is not took into account, and is different from the actual situation Therefore, on the basis of analyzing the law of energy conversion in the process of landslide and the characteristics of slice method, the whole sliding body is divided into servel sliding block and in connection with dashpot. The energy dissipation in the deformation of Glue pot are adopted to simulate the internal energy dissipation in the process of landslide. Then, establish the motion equation of each sliding block, and can get the final landslide evaluation indexes such as run-out, maximum speed and movement time through the programming calculation Finally, based on the model test results, the results respectively using the discrete element method and the proposed landslide analysis model are compared, to prove the correctness of the proposed analytical modelBy using model experiments, theoretical study and numerical simulation, the debris flow movement and accumulation process were studied in this paper. Finally, the research results can provide a preliminary basis for further study on landslide run-out and accumulation characteristics.
