Nanmingshuidong gold deposit is located at the eastern Moqingwula-Kalamely metallogenic belt(Ⅳ-grade metallogenic belt)which belongs to Daerbute-Kalamely gold metallogenic belt(Ⅲ-grade metallogenic belt)in the eastern Jungar, Xinjiang. It situates at the Kalamely strong structural zone grasped by Sujiquan-qingshui fault and Kalamelydeep fault, which controls the distribution of the Kalamely gold belt. Through collecting and analyzing the data of regional geology, geophysics and geochemistry, regional metamorphism and structural evolution, the paper studies the gold veins(bodies) characteristics, ore mineral composition, ore texture and structure, and wall-rock alteration, and furtherly discusses the source of minerals, ore-controlling factors, metallogenic regularity and then proposes the genesis of the deposit. The main conclusions are made as follows:Nanmingshuidong gold deposit is stored in Nanmingshui formation of the lower Carboniferous. The ore-forming material originated from the volcanic rocks, pyroclastic rocks and ophiolite rocks with high background values of gold. The ore-forming fluid was a large number of metamorphic hydrothermal fluids from dehydration of minerals and rocks in the process of regional tectonic movement. The gold veins and bodies were controlled by the ductile-brittle shear zone in the Kalamely strong structural zone. The NW and NWW trend main faults are the main ore-control structure. Inaddition, some secondary structures which intersects with the main structure such as crushing belt and faults(intersecting or parallel to main structure), collapse of the axis of the anticline, interlayer fissures and pinnate fractures constitute the main ore-bearing structures. The interaction of tectonic activitiesand metamorphism caused the active migration and enrichment of ore-forming materials.Combined with the above study, it was concluded that Nanmingshuidong gold deposit was formed in the late Variscan movement. The industrial type of ore deposit include quartz-vein type and fracture-alteration rock type. The genetic type can be classified as medium to low temperature metamorphic hydrothermal type gold deposit. The ore-forming process of the deposit had characteristics such as multiple cycles, multiple stages and continuity, besides, the distribution of ore bodies have obvious zoning and direction properties in Nanmingshuidong gold deposit.
