Electromagnetic exploration is an important and effective Geo-Exploration way, with a widely used in aspects of metal mineral, coal, groundwater, geothermal resources, oil and gas fields’exploration and all kinds of geological formations research. At present, the electromagnetic prospecting instrument market is dominated by foreign electromagnetic instruments companies, and the instrument is expensive. So to design and implement a multi-channel, high-precision, multi-functional electromagnetic measurement system has important significance in actual exploration work.Based on a large number of references about the development of electromagnetic prospecting instrument, this thesis studies the measurement principle and parameters of natural source electromagnetic method and man-made source electromagnetic method in depth. The design specifications and overall scheme are proposed based on the characteristics of electromagnetic signals and the development trend of electromagnetic instruments. The system can be divided into three parts:data acquisition board, FPGA control circuit and PC software. And this thesis completes the hardware design and software design based on system scheme. The part of the hardware design completes the design of signal conditioning circuits, ADC conversion circuit and USB communications interface circuits; the part of software design consists of two aspects:one is implemented the SOPC system design based on Nios II CPU and USB drivers design and configuration, on the other hand LabVIEW is used to design application software of user interface and implement the control of the system through the Surface Pro.Based on the completion of the system, this thesis tests the system indoor and outdoor, and proposes future work according to the analysis of test result.
