Multi beam measurement is one of the newest forms of underwater detection. Multi beam measurement technology has become an important application technology of underwater topographic and topographic survey, such as submarine, lake, channel and so on. Multi beam echo sounding system is a complex system composed of multi sensors. It is highly integrated with many kinds of technology, such as computer technology, navigation and positioning technology and digital sensor technology and it is a new high precision and full coverage sounding system.On the basis of analyzing the present situation of domestic and foreign research, this paper studies the following aspects of multi beam sounding system and related data processing technology.(1) The multi beam sounding system is a measurement system composed of multiple subsystems consisting of fusion. Through the analysis of the working principle of multibeam sounding system, including acoustics principle, principle of positioning and navigation, attitude correction principle, coordinate conversion principle, the multibeam bathymetric data the error estimate of magnitude and a detailed analysis of the mechanism of the influence. This paper introduces the main multi beam surveying instruments and related parameters in the market, and expounds the methods of multi beam depth measurement.(2) Research and implementation of the original data decoding algorithm for multi beam XTF and HSX format. XTF is an extensible file format, which is widely used in multi beam data. This paper discusses in detail the XTF format file decoding algorithm; HSX is a common format of HYPACK, the purpose of this paper is to complete the HSX format decoding is to compare with the XTF decoding data, to ensure the accuracy of the decoding results.(3) Multi beam bathymetric data pretreatment, this paper expounds the multibeam bathymetric data from the original data decoding, after sound ray correction, attitude correction, geography solution, gross error processing, correction of depth, can get the final measured underwater space point position. The tracking method introduces a suitable voice(voice in constant gradient tracking).With this attitude correction and classified as algorithm. Gross batch processing part mainly studies the detection and rejection of multi beam sounding data error trend surface filter based on the practical, other gross error processing method is introduced briefly.In this paper, the method of depth correction in multi beam sounding is introduced. Based on the above research, the software of multi beam echo sounding data processing system is developed.(4) Based on multi beam sounding data processing method, the first analysis of the multi beam system error composition and the impact of the principle. System error containing transducers installation deviation, the electric compass erection deviation, abnormal heave, delay time, sound velocity correction is not perfect, is designed in this paper and experiments were carried out to detect the error system, based on the multi beam measurement principle and detecting method, the corresponding algorithm to eliminate the system error.(5) After the treatment of multi beam bathymetric data, there is still residual systematic errors. This paper describes the system residual error causes and effects of the characteristics of based on the seabed, consistent change principle of residual error weakening method and residual error based on spectrum of topography and the measured micro topographic information combination method of weakening. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the method.
