LUCC(Land Use and Land Cover Change) has important implication to global environmental change, It has become the focus in the field of environmental research from home and abroad.Deng Kou is the oasis- sandy ecotone and lie in a variety of ecosystem transition zone, which has a long history of human activity. Also, Deng Kou is one of the most violent areas of land use change. In this paper, using Landsat5 TM/Landsat7 ETM+ and Landsat8 OIL in 2000,2007and2013 as main information source. The information of LUCC from 2000 to 2013 is extracted with the method which is used multilevel-layer information extraction and supervised classification based on the basis of analysising of spectral characters of representative land use types. Supported with GIS and ENVI, analysising the characters, spatial change and conversion process of LUCC in study area from the 21 th century. The sandy changing was particularly studyed. Driving force was analyzed from the natural and social factors. The main conclusions of the paper are:1. Using the multi-level layer class methods, which can classify LUCC automaticly based on analysising spectral characters of representative landuse type and supervised classification. With this method, the land use types can be classified automatically with accuracy 80% at least and the Kappa Coefficient exceeds 0.8. So, the method is an effective method for LUCC information extraction.2.Sandy and cultivated land are main land use structure in study area. Nearly 50% of the total area is the Sandy and 27% is the cultivated land. Proportion to total area nearly 10% to forest land and grass land area. Proportion to total area only 4% to civil,Industrial and mine land, water area. According to proportion, the study area is agriculture and sandy interlaced zone.3.The land use changed greatly from 2000 to 2013. Mainly for the increasing of cultivated land, forest land and the reducing of sandy. Among them forest land area increased 156.19km2,had growth rate of nearly 55.97%.Cultivated land area increased 180.14km2,had growth rate of 38.73%. Simultaneously, sandy land decreased383.86km2, the reduction rate reached 81.65%.The main features of land use conversion is that sandy land transformed to cultivated land and cultivated land transformed to forest land. From 2000 to 2013, 205km2 of sandy transformed to cultivated land and 98.5km2 of cultivated land transformed to forest land.In space, the transformation of cultivated land and sandy land occurred in the border of desert and oasis, also around the Yellow River Basin. The transformation of cultivated land and forest land occurred arround the cultivated land. The transformation of unusable land and cultivated land, forest land, grass land occurred near the irrigation district of Yellow River. The transformation of sandy land and unusable land occurred in the saline area. Sandy type changed significantly from 2000 to 2013. From 2000 to 2013, the area proportion of shifting sandy and helf- shifting sandy decreased from 66.58% to 55.37%, while fixed sandy and helf- fixed sandy increased from 33.47% to 44.62%. The center gravity of sandy move to southwest. Since the 21 st century, the study area has showed: "reverse desertification".4. Natural factors and socio-economic were main driving force factors to LUCC in study area. Water resources factor is one of the main factor, which affecting LUCC in natural factors. Policy regime is decisive factor in socio-economic,which is the mian driving force factors to effect LUCC. Population growth and economic development also effect LUCC.
