Coalbed Merhane as a new type of efficient and clean energy, its huge potential has been recognized with increasing depth and breadth of coalbed methane development, gas disaster is becoming increasingly prominent, therefore, it is significant for coal mine production safety to analyze comprehensibly and evaluate coalbed methane development and distribution conditions features.This paper is based on thirteen minefield coalbed methane data, use the theory of Coalfield Geology, Structural Geology, Sedimentology, Gas-geology and combined with drilling data to discuss occurrence regularity of coalbed methane in Binchang coal-bearing area. Not only to estimate coalbed methane resources, but also optimize favorable mining area.The middle jurassic Yanan formation is the main coal seam. The NO.4 coal seam is the entire district minable seam, the average thickness is 11 m, the display of coal and rock source rock has good gas potential. From the macro and micro coal of coal reservoir rock types, the characteristics of coal, coal rank, coal reservoir permeability, coal seam fracture characteristics, the adsorption characteristics and the gas-bearing characteristics, we had an in-depth analysis to the coal characteristics. Analyzed the factors which influence the enrichment and accumulation of coalbed methane from coal seam roof and floor lithologic characteristics, coal metamorphism, the geological structure conditions and hydrogeological conditions.Thinking the above factors are different levels of a certain influence on the preservation of coalbed methane in the study area.Use volumetric method to estimate coalbed is about 112.06×108m3,more than 88.99×108m3of them is in NO.4 coal seam, abundant resources and better reservoir characteristics made it become the target of csg mining.Our research optimize more than 49.03×108m3 methane resource in about 90.17km2 from four favorable mining areas, which shows great commercial value.
