Traffic Accessibility Analysis Of County Based On GIS

Regional traffic accessibility is an important criterion to evaluate a regional traffic network, which is revealed comprehensively in the traffic conditions and different combinations. The model of “City and County Space Interaction”, which makes use of the powerful data processing and analyzing ability of GIS, can improve the level of data analysis scientifically and comprehensively.In this thesis, Arc GIS spatial analysis and network ana lysis are used to evaluate the regional traffic accessibility of Hexi corridor region quantitatively. Gravitational model, potential model and field strength model are used to analyze the interaction strength, potential value and radiated field strength of the Hexi corridor region, to provide quantitative measure and comparison analysis.Some major results of the research achieved:(1)The middle of Hexi corridor region, including Zhang Ye city, Lin Ze county, Gao Tai county, Shan Dan county have the shortest average time to reach other cities and counties. Zhang Ye city and Jiu Quan city have the largest area of one-hour-reachability coverage. There are also good radiated interactions between these two cities.(2)The result of gravitational model reveals that the gravitation value decreases gradually according to the distance between cities with Zhang Ye city and Jiu Quan city. The breaking points between Zhang Ye city are all closing to other cities, which shows it has strong influence and interactions.(3)The potential value decreases according to the distance between cities with the region formed by Zhang Ye city and Jiu Quan city.(4)According to the result of radiated field strength computations, Jia Yu Guan city has the strongest radiated interaction strength. Zhang Ye city ranked the second, with relatively obvious impacts to the contiguous regions.There formed a regional center of interaction by Zhang Ye city and Jiu Quan city. It has significant impacts on its regional cities and counties, which var ies due to the geological location, traffic distance and accessibility. This thesis is supposed to provide reference for the positive development for the county based regional tra ffic accessibility of Hexi corridor region.
