Kuqa depressing is the main area for oil exploration on Tarim basin in recent years. For the reformation by the frequent tectonic activities during Quaternary Period, it is more and more difficult to study on Kuqa depressing and study on tectonic activities become more important. With the fast development of remote sensing (RS) technique, geomorphologic mapping with remote sensing technique become more and more popular all over the world. Study on tectonic deformation and dynamic feature by RS interpreter method which overcomes the limitations of geologic survey can not only shows the whole area’s structure skeleton but also reveals the details. On this paper, we carry out map processing and interpret on the software platform consisting of ENVI4.3、mapgis6.5and photoshop10.0, using 3 pieces of RS image data with high quality and accuracy, which are collected at the same time of the year 2000,2001,2002. We will find out the salt dome structures which require high definition interpretation by combination of different data bands and RS data fusion between ETM data of multiple bands and quick bird 5m data of single band. Read the Gauss-Kruger value of the ground controlling spots from the topographic map with the scale of 1:200000 then find these spots on the RS image and input value to transform it to a new image with geographic coordinates, on which we carry out a series of work about interpretation. We complete a piece of color geomorphologic map with the scale of 1:200000 and finish the identification of the geomorphologic and structure units. We interpret more than 160 faults, 50 folds and 35 salt dome structures by combination, correlation and inference. According to the study on features of sub areas on Kuqa depressing, we confirm the division of five structural belts including Kuqa thrust-and-fold foothill belt, Keyi anticline structure belt, Baicheng synclinal structure belt, Qiulitage anticline structure belt and Kuqa-Yaken structure belt and research the distribution of anticline structures and faults at end of Cenozoic on the areas of northern parts of Kuqa county and Kalayuerkun area. Strike slip features of left lateral faults on this area are also referred to. Obvious multiphase features of alluvial fans at Quaternary have an intimate relationship with the tectonic deformation.
