In rail transportation, aerospace, petrochemical and nuclear power, and manyother areas, nondestructive testing is an important tool in inspection and safetyinspection about the special equipment and critical equipment. In rail transportation, aerospace, petrochemical and nuclear power, and many other areas, nondestructivetesting (NDT) is an important tool in inspection and safety inspection about thespecial equipment and critical equipment. NDT technology play a very important rolein checking defects in special equipment and key equipment, eliminating dangerousrisks, protecting the normal operation of safety equipment, etc. Especially theconductive composite structure checks of the different layers and the rapid detectionfor the specialty materials are the current problems need to be solved, such as railtransport in the mechanization of track testing equipment.According to the above requirements, the eddy current testing (ECT) technologybased on giant magneto resistive sensor (GMR) was analyzed in this paper. This, paper try to study the technology about the Eddy Current Testing (ECT) base on theGiant Magneto Resistive (GMR) Sensor, and study the characteristics of the ECTbase on the GMR Sensor by the angle between the simulations and the experiments. The work of this paper lies in the following aspects:1, The GMR sensor characteristics are analyzed;2, To establish the finite element simulation model based on GMR sensor, theuse of COMSOL analysis of Multiphysics simulation software, for different defects, and different scanning directions, simulation analysis and principle of changedetection field;3, The conductive structure defect detection experiment based on GMR sensor, through detecting the effect analysis of sensor for known conductor structure defect, validity is verified by simulation results.
