Phenolic resin is a kind of excellent thermosetting materials that already had hundredyears of history. Having the properties of excellent mechanical property such as heatresistance, cold resistance, insulativity, size stability, flame resistant and low smoke, thereforeit has become indispensable material in industry.Water-base Phenolic resin is a kind of thermal catalytic curing materials. Studying on itscuring process can optimize the process as well as saving energy. It also can help tounderstand how different curing conditions influence the application per formance which canprovide theory guidance on curing technology. At present, reports of combining the rheology and thermal analysis to study the curingprocess of phenolic resin are rare. This article try to use the rheometer to simulate thetemperature process of the grinding wheel during the molding stage. According to track thedynamic viscosity, we found that keeping heating rate of1℃/min benefits wetting andmolding. Combining the viscosity-time curve of the rotational rheomerter and the curingpercent-time curve of the DSC,we found that sample1is better fit the online curing. In this paper, a series of phenolic resin were chosen to prepare resin coating underdifferent temperature and different time. After that, we used the universal test machine to testthe bending strength. We also used the DSC to test the curing degree. Research shows that thecuring process of phenolic resin has a best condition. For the sample1, keeping16hoursunder120℃in oven was the best condition, over extend the curing time would weaken thebending strength. It prove that can predict reasonable process condition for different recipe ofphenolic resin, to make sure the temperature, the heating rate, and the keeping t ime for curingprocess and that will avoid large practical application experiment each time chaging therecipe.
