In ccasional explosive and high-speed impacting conditions, the security ofstructure has been a hot research topic in the field of civil engineering. Passive safetyprotection technology is the current mainstream. New lightweight energy-absorbingmaterials in the structure of the explosion and shock resistance are increasingly causingresearchers’ concern. Aluminum foam is a porous material artificially prepared, with alow density, light weight, high strength, high specific stiffness and good energyabsorption characteristics of the buffer. Metallic foam has good ability in shaping thelarge deformation in explosion and high-speed impact loads. In the defense industry,aerospace and protective engineering and other fields have broad application prospects.Due to the low carrying capacity of ordinary aluminum foam, it can not be used as aload-bearing structure. Aluminum foam tends to be applied as sandwich panels andtubes filled with foam in the form of engineering structures.In addition, the tube filledwith aluminum foam under the impact to improve the carrying capacity of the structureis also an important application. In short, various forms of metal-aluminum foamcomposite structures have been made, which can improve the carrying ability ofanti-explosion structure,which becomes an important field of protection engineeringand new research directions. In this paper, steel-aluminum foam sandwich compositestructures’ and composite aluminum foam panels’ impact resistance, anti-knockproperties of composite structures are studied experimentally and investigated innumerical simulation method.The following exploration and research have been performed:Part1:Air guns fire foam bullets to impact sandwich panels to detect the dynamicmechanical behavior of the sandwich panels. And this impact test has been simulatedby the finite element software LS-DYNA and parametric analysis has also been donethough this software.Part2:That TNT explosives shocks sandwich plate has been simulated to investigate thedynamic mechanical behavior of sandwich panels though LBE,which is a methodsimulating TNT explosion in LS-DYNA software.Part3:Thin wall tubes and thin wall tubes filled with foam has been tested to investigatebuckling mode, carrying capacity and energy absorption characteristics by compressiontester experimentally in quasi-static and dynamic conditions.Part4: Based on the analysis of the test results, use LS-DYNA finite elementsoftware to build sophisticated finite element model of the investigated specimens, the test results for the corresponding parameters of numerical simulation and preliminaryanalysis of the preliminary validation of the finite element correctness of the model andcalculation methods, in order to further lay the foundation for multi-parameter analysis.
