Electrode pressure is one of the main factor of resistance spot welding,whosestablility and convertibility are very important to assuring good weldingquality.However, the traditional control method of electrode pressure can not changeelectrode pressure at all.So this paper tends to design a new type of electrode pressurecontrol equipment.a electrode pressure control system base on servo motor,which iscapable of changing the electrode pressure in real time during welding process.servocontrol system has much advantage,such as`high precision, fast response speed, highpower/mass ratio and so on,it is very suitable fo electrode pressure control system..This paper analysis the advantages and disadvantages of various mechanicaltransmission method,and then select the worm and gear drive for it’s transmission ratioand smooth motion. and turn it’s rotary motion into linear motion by ball screw toachieve the electrode pressure process. This paper design all the parts of electrodepressure transmission structure,and select a appropriate servo motor.At the sametime,analysis the system’s output force conditions and stress conditions.This paper design the pressure controller and the control program,to control thepressure of whole welding process,the hardware circuit use the idea ofmodularization.,select the dsPIC as the core controller,and design the correspondingcircuit.The circuit includes:electrode displacement control circuit,motor torque controlcircuit,serial communication circuit,the signal acquisition circuit of encoderfeedback,and the anti-jamming design.The system meet the design requirements,can be used in industry.
