This test Bayan Obo ore in Inner Mongolia autonomous region carried out a researchinto the comprehensive recovery of rare earth and iron. The mine’s huge reserves, mainlyon iron, niobium and rare earth large polymetallic ore, ore properties is more complex.The useful minerals are mainly magnetite, hematite, monazite, bastnaesite, niobium,etc., closely disseminated extent tiny useful mineral symbiosis, and the presence of largeamounts of difficulty is to separate the gangue minerals,such as fluorite,barite,apatite anddolomite,calcite, rare earth choose don’t difficult.Bayan Obo ore mainly can be divided into oxidized ore and magnetite,about eachhalf of the oxidized ore and magnetite,grant Thornton containing rare earth minerals,which are comparatively good separation of rare earth oxide minerals, and it is difficult forrare separation of magnetite,baotou steel for years to the present main recycling of rareearths in oxidized ore.And steel mill is designed for elected iron is given priority to, the rare earths asclosely associated with iron resources in the ore,so can only be recycled in the process ofchoosing iron,rare earth and there is no independent conditions,and the main raw materialof flotation of rare earth is in the process of oxidized ore series and some strong magnetictaings of middlings was strong magnetic, another election and the concentrator of baotouiron magnetite series of rare earth almost no recovery,is with tailings filling with tailingsdam,the cause of the current utilization of Bayan Obo ore rare earth is extremely low.Now steel mainly adopted the method of magnetic iron before flotation of rare earthto recycling of Bayan Obo ore, process is like this:weak magnetic separation-magneticseparation-flotation. In this experiment, process is opposite: the flotation weak magneticseparation-magnetic separation, a large number of experiments proved that this method iseffective and feasible. Dealing with the difficult choice ore, beneficiation process experimental study andobtain the following main results:(1) Through a lot of experimental study on the final roughing conditions weredetermined:Mineral processing fineness for85%less than0.074mm,Add sodium silicate0.4kg/t as the inhibitors of gangue mineral,Add8#medicine12kg/t as a collector of rareearth minerals,Add2#oil as a foaming agent of rare earth minerals,The resulting rare earthrough concentrate grade of23.71%,recovery rate is85.20%,Indicators ideal.(2) By magnetic separation test study shows:Under the magnetic field strength of1200Oe,for a magnetic separation can obtain considerable don’t index, The grade of ironconcentrate67%above, Recovery more65%.(3) Determine the final process for a roughing, three times, The rough concentrategrind to less than0.046mm90%first, then to selecte three times, Select1to join thesodium silicate0.05kg/t、8#medicine6kg/t,Select2to join the sodium silicate0.02kg/t,Select3to join the sodium silicate0.01kg/t, eventually the rare earth concentrategrade of46.50%and recovery was50.00%.The comprehensive recycling rare earth implements, this study provides a new oredressing process for the development of the mine. At the same time, the research on thedevelopment and utilization of this type of ore has a certain guiding significance.
