Though direct printing of disperse dyes has advantages in color fastness and softhandfeel, the long process and discharge of a large amount of waste water could notbeignored. The technological process of pigment printing is relatively simple and no wastewater is produced during the printing, however, there are some drawbacks such as the poorcolor fastness and the hard handfeel needing to be overcome. The purpose of this paper isto develop a micro-polymerization printing of disperse dyesprinting which combines theadvantages of the above two kinds of printing, at the same time, we induce a new type ofprinting technology based on the principle of color deepened. In this paper, polyesterwoven fabrics are used for the study, The orthogonal experiment and quadratic regressionmodel are employed to optimize the polymerization of vinyl monomers variation of colordepth (K/S value or L*value) On the other hand, the characteristics of the thickenerrheological and salt rheological are compared, we also investigate the affects thecomponents of the printing paste have on the printing resolution.During the experiment, total reflection infrared spectroscopy (FTIR-ATR) is used to characterize thepolymerization of monomers. The results showed that:(1)a vinyl monomer (butyl acrylate, isooctyl acrylate andacrylonitrile) copolymer can be formed on the fibers and induce a soft handfeel.(2)Thethickener PDF can meet the requirements in micro-polymerization printing because of therelatively small amount, high viscosity and high resistance todielectric.(3)The adding of theprinting auxiliary aids (such as emulsifier OP-10, ammonia, ether polymer, siliconeterpolymers, etc.)can improve the sharpness of printed fabrics.(4)The technology ofmicro-polymerization printing using disperse dye can get a great color fastness which canalso ensure the little amount of the waste water discharged.
