With the rapid development of the automotive, marine, aviation, construction machineryand defense industry and other industries, as the manufacturing level above the industry’smost important gear transmission components directly affects the development trend of theentire industrial sector and national security. Cylindrical gear is the most widely used gear,which is directly related to the level of manufacturing trends entire gear industry. Currently,the main method of cylindrical gear machining include hobbing, milling, grinding teeth,pulling teeth, slotting, etc. Hobbing has good versatility due to its high accuracy andefficiency. It is widely used in the production of cylindrical gears.With the rise of China’s manufacturing industry, the shortcomings of the traditionalmechanical systems and CNC hobbing increase apparently. It’s too complicated mechanicaltransmission chain, which restricts the development of real-time and modular CNC system.Therefore, the main content of this paper is directly driven by the motor of each axis hobbingexhibition ingredients to achieve the degree of movement. PC is as the hobbing machine CNCsystem hardware and software development platform, with DSP motion controller to improvereal-time systems and modular expansion capabilities and via the servo drive to achievehobbing interpolation arithmetic functions.Firstly, the paper introduces the present situation of the development of cylindrical gearhobbing machines and CNC systems, and analyzes the direct drive motor control schemecylindrical gear hobbing movement principle and transmission. The cylindrical gear hobbingmachine is designed and manufactured, and the direct drive motor control program isproposed.Secondly, the paper researches the characteristics of the cylindrical gear hobbing CNCsystem, and determines the system development programs based on "PC+DSP motioncontroller". The paper analyzes the functions and features of F2812DSP motion controller,and designs the communication between PC and DSP.Then, according to the cylindrical gear hobbing motor speed and torque requirements, the hobbing drive motor and servo drives are determined. The relationship of the torque servomotor and servo motor for PWM speed performance are analyzed and experimentalverification.Finally, the numerical control system hardware features hobbing requirements ofprocess control system are analyzed, and the software structure of the system is designed. Thepaper develops a module and a user operation input module processing parameters.Experimental platform is build to debug the entire system of hardware and software. Motionaccuracy and reliability of CNC hobbing system are experimentally verified.
