Energy is the basic conditions of human survival and development during thetwenty-first century, and it is an integral part of popular attention in the world’seconomic development strategy. With the increasing depletion of conventional fossilfuels, there is a growing desire to appear cheap and environmentally friendlyrenewable energy technologies. Solar energy is no pollution, no noise, withoutgeographical restrictions, inexhaustible clean energy, and it is the best availableenergy patterns so far. Solar cells transform the solar energy directly into electricity, and it is an effective way for people to use solar energy resources, storage anddelivery of energy. Currently, the preparation of high efficiency, low cost, large areaproduction of solar cells, is the focus of attention of academia and industry. Thus, organic solar cells based on organic active materials come into view, andget the attention and developmentincreasingly. The solution-processable conjugatedorganic polymer solar cells has many advantages, including ease of manufacture, theapparatus simple, low cost, light weight, large area uniform film can be made, or canbe made thin, transparent, flexible solar cells. This paper studies involving the two systems: The first chapter, we start frombenzodithiophene, introducing1-ethynyl-3,5-bis(octyloxy) phenyl as a side chain,synthesized4,8-bis(1-ethynyl-3,5-bis(octyloxy)phenyl)-benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b’]dithiophene, and a series of polymers based on the monomers. And the introductionof an alkynyl group effects the series properties of polymer. The second chapter, basedon previous studies, we had synthesized4,8-bis(4-ethyl-hexyloxy-phenyl)-benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b’]dithiophene, and obtained Poly{4,8-bis(4-(2-ethyl-hexyloxy)-phenyl-benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b’]dithiophene-alternately-2-ethyl-hexyl-thieno[3,4-b]thiophene-2-carboxylate} by copolymerized with2-ethylhexyl-thieno[3,4-b]thiophene-2-carboxylate (TT). The polymer has been used in organic solar cell devices, and hasbeen tested their photovoltaic properties.
