Roadway supporting became mine production a major problem because burying deep beneath the surface which effected integrately by the various geological factors, with not only the performances characteristics of high stress, but makes the original phenomenon of soft rock formations which no soft rock features in the shallow subsurface. In particular, the coal mine roadway support tend to spend a lot of resources which often associated with weak broken rock. Therefore, it become a very important part for coal mine producting safetly and efficiencly with solving the problem of roadway support in deep coal under the high stress condition. The Xiajin coal mine has been mined more than40years, but the roadway supporting almost follow the traditional way. With the depth of mining increases every year, it’s difficult to meet the support needs of deep roadway supporting with high demand by using the old ways, there have been large dome caving, landslides situation and hampered the coal mine’s safety and economical production seriously, so it needs the support mode to solve the problem of Xiajin’s deep roadway stability which meets the actual engineering.This paper combines the project "Research of deep roadway under high strength and stiffness of the composite technology support applied for Xiajin coal mine ",it studied the basic geology of Xiajin coal mine systematically after a number of field surveys, and studied the composition and mechanical properties of roadway from the macro and micro aspects with a large number of laboratory experiments. It analysises the causes of deformation and failure for deep roadway and the failure mode of Xiajin coal mine, at the same time it evaluated the difficulty of the project. It takes Guidaoxiashan tunnel as the object of support research,choose the best solution by using the finite difference software FLAC3D analog4kinds of support programs which considers from an economic, technological and simulation results,and study the influence of roadway’s stability when using the different support parameters such as bolt diameter, anchoring methods,bolt inter-row spacing.It used the KJ327mine pressure monitoring equipment to monitor the Guidaoxiashan roadway’s stability,and the results showed the good supporting effect with that the deformation of roadway within the range of reasonable and controllable while the roadway in a stable state.
