| Presently starch adhesive is mainly used in the bonding of cardboard, but the watercontent is as much as60%~70%, resulting in the high moisture content of the paper box, thetardiness of drying speed, and no conducive to high-speed mechanized cardboard productionline. Hot air drying equipment is mainly used in traditional bond paper production line.However, the equipment is so complex and the energy consumption is much higher. In thiscondition, microwave drying emerges at the right moment. Microwave drying is a new andenvironmentally friendly type of drying technology, with so many advantages: fast heating,uniform heating, low energy consumption, clean production, product quality improvementand advantages of easy implementation and automation, etc. So the microwave is attractingmore and more attention of many drying fields.This paper mainly studied production of corrugated board and coated paper boardbonded single lap joint dried by microwave heating instead of hot air drying, the influence ofvarious factors on the quality of the dried product and optimizing parameters of dryingprocess. The study found that the microwave drying was able to produce high quality paperproducts as well as greatly reduce the energy consumption.In this study, the orthogonal design was adopted firstly optimizing the technology ofmicrowave drying corrugated board, so as to determine the impact of various factors onmicrowave drying corrugated board edge crush strength of the primary and secondary order:A>C>B, microwave power> drying time> the amount of adhesive and optimum combinationwas A2B1C1. The impact of various factors on microwave drying corrugated board bondstrength of the primary and secondary order was A>C>B, microwave power> the amount ofadhesive> drying time and optimum combination was A2B1C2. Since the effect of the amountof adhesive on bonding strength was greater than the impact on the edge crush strength,A2B1C2was chosen as the best combination, namely microwave power of600W, the dryingtime of50s, the amount of adhesive quantity of55g/m2. In this condition, the edge crushstrength reaches was up to7618N/m and the adhesive strength was reaching864N/m.In this paper, the central composite design (CCD) was adopted secondly and theoptimized influence of various factors on the shear strength of coated paperboard single lap ofmicrowave drying method were decided by response surface methodology got from softwareof Design-Expert. The primary and secondary order was microwave power> drying time>bonding area, and the optimal regression equation was determined as shown as follows,Y=4.041+0.209*A+0.196*B-0.238*C-0.627*A*A-0.781*B*B-0.383*C*C. The maximum point was determined by the analysis of the response surface and contour plot, determiningthe optimum conditions for microwave drying coated paperboard single lap adhesive is:drying time of245.28s, bonding area of60.88mm2, microwave power of208.8W and theshear strength of4.04MP. Considering the actual situation, the condition of each factor wastaken the whole, so the optimal process of coated paperboard was the drying time of245s,bonding area of61mm2, microwave power of210W.The comprehensive quality of the drying products by microwave drying and hotair/microwave drying was better than the natural drying and hot air drying, and the energyconsumption was greatly reduced. Finally, the paper got from the various drying methodswere compared by quality and energy consumption respectively, the results showed that: Thecomprehensive quality of products produced by Microwave drying and microwave/hot airdrying are better than by the natural drying and hot air drying, and the energy consumptionwas greatly reduced. |
