With the continuous development of mechanized coal mining, slime content in the coal preparation plant production process increases. Dense Medium Cyclone constantly moving in the direction of large-scale development, the effective sorting lower size will also rise, but the flotation can not recover effectively for coarse slime. Thus, between the heavy medium cyclone effective separation fower size and flotation effective separation upper limit of coarse slime lack of effective separation in the actual production process. However, the separation of coarse slime in this range is the weak point of coal preparation technology. Lack of separation equipments with high accuracy seriously harmed the development of coal preparation technology and it has become the bottleneck problem of ensuring product quality and improving economic benefit in coal preparation plant. In recent years, large gravity-fed three-product heavy medium cyclone without desliming and grading has been rapid developmented. The purpose of the slime heavy medium preparation is to give full play to heavy medium cyclone separation advantages of high precision, to further improve the separation lower size of heavy medium cyclone separation process system, So the coarse slime can be recovered at the maximum extent. The coal preparation plant can obtain acceptable quality fine slime and reduce the amount of flotation, streamline processes, reduce production costs.This paper first analyzes the conditions of production and the nature of the slime heavy medium feed in Linxi, Zhaogezhuang and Xinzhuangzi coal preparation plant. Through the sieve analysis data of feed, we can analysis the size consist and ash consist, Through a test of float-and-sink for0.25-0.1mm,we can draw washability curve and analysis the Washability and determine the theory separation density and clean coal theoretical yield. Then do screening test for the slime heavy medium overflow and underflow, and do float-and-sink test for0.25-0.1mm, draw0.25-0.1mm distribution curve and drew distribution curve and misplaced material curve and calculate organic efficiency. Determine the effect of this materials by slime dense medium, and then analyze the separation effect of the overall slime heavy medium. Through calculating the ecart probable moyen of0.25-0.1mm,can determine the lower size of the slime heavy medium.Integrating the sorting result of Linxi,Zhaogezhuang Xinzhuangzi coal preparation plant,we can see that the tower size of slime heavy media separation can reach0.1mm, sorting good effect. The total misplaced material was lo wer for0.25-0.1mm and sorting more complete.By changing the feed pressure,we can find that overflow yield and ash have the huge difference under different pressure. This illustrates that have a great relationship between the slime heavy media separation effects and feed pressure.The slime heavy media must has appropriate pressure. By changing the size of the heavy medium, we can find that the thinner particle size, the greater yield of the overflow, the better separation efficiency. So, slime heavy medium in the actual production process should try to use thin heavy media.
