For the problem that the water abundance of sandstone (K3) aquifer at the bottom of Upper Shihezi Formation in Permain of Wolonghu coal mine is complex and the water source of8101working face is unknown, this paper made comprehensive assessment on the water abundance of sandstone aquifer by single factor analysis method and multi-factor comprehensive analysis method on the basis of collecting and managing data of drilling column, simple hydrological observation, connecting tests, pumping tests, logging curves, etc. In addition, this paper made comparative analysis on characteristics of water inrush and hydrogeochemistry in nearby mines, as well as studied the discrimination of water source in the region. We have got the distribution characteristics of water abundance of K3sandstone aquifer and evaluated the water source of8101working face comprehensively, which would be significant in the prevention and control of water disaster. Here are the main results and cognitions:(1) K3sandstone is the most obvious marker bed of sandstone in the region and it is mainly made up of fine sandstone and medium sandstone and the coarse sandstone is developed partly. K3sandstone is usually steady and thick and the thickness ranges from20m to30m. It gets thinner from north to south gradually as a whole and it has a banding distribution along the northeast trending.(2) The geological structure in Wolonghu coal mine is moderately complex and fold and fault are well developed. The fractal dimension of fault decreases gradually from north to south and it is in line with tectonic trends in the area which show in northeast. The coefficient of deformation of fold is large in the region nears Zhangdazhuang anticline and Mengzhuang syncline.(3) By means of overlaying analysis of water abundance index in each sandstone aquifer, comparing the influencing factors of water abundance of sandstone and combining the hydrogeological parameters and characters of waterflow yield in each sandstone aquifer, the results through comprehensive evaluation show that K3sandstone is thick and fracture develops well. The storing space of water is large and connectivity is fine, as well as the water abundance is rich.(4) Based on the comprehensive analysis of test of water quality, the water level of long-time observation hole in third aquifer, connective experiment and the underground water situation, this paper got that the reason of water inrush of8101working face is that mining moves influence the1#hole on the ground and casing pipe snaps. What’s more, fracture water of sandstone in each aquifer of bedrock gets into the working face along borehole and its annulus. The direct position of water inrush is sandstone aquifer of bedrock and it’s mainly K3sandstone water.
