Propylene is an important organic chemical raw materials, mainly for theproduction of polypropylene,acrylonitrile,propylene oxide and other chemicalproducts. Since the increasing demand for propylene, the study of propanedehydrogenation process getting more and more research. However, it can onlyobtain low yield of propylene due to the thermodynamic limit. Therefore, manystudies are carried out to use O2as the oxidant to improve the performances ofthe dehydrogenation reaction, but low propylene selectivity will appear becausethe high activity of oxygen may prompt the formation of byproducts. The use ofCO2as an oxidant will not only improve thermodynamic equilibrium of propanedehydrogenation reaction but also can take advantage of the rich resources ofCO2to obtain a higher olefin selectivity. In addition,carbon conversion andutilization of resources to achieve will reduce environmental pollution.Vanadium based catalyst is one of the most effective of propanedehydrogenation catalyst, vanadium oxide supported on SBA-15mesoporousmolecular sieve material,because SBA-15have a larger diameter and thicker cellwalls,hydrothermal stability well, and its larger surface area is more conduciveto the active component of vanadium dispersed.In this paper,we have prepared a series of XVOx/SBA-15catalyst (X:catalyst mass fraction of vanadium atoms). And the employed supports are fromsynthesised and Nanjing co., ltd, respectively. The performances of differentsamples is evaluted in a fixed bed reactor. And some characterization teachniquesincluding XRD, FESEM, THM, BET, FTIR and XPS are also employed toinvestigate the catalyst morphology, structure and surface vanadium species state.The results show that the XVOx/SBA-15catalyst exhibit excellent catalyticactivity for the dehydrogenation of propane. The properties of synthesisedcatalyst carrier is better than the bought In addition,the paper also examines thecatalytic performance of XVOx/SBA-15catalyst for propane dehydrogenationreaction with the absence of CO2.
