Titanium silicalite zeolite is an excellent catalytic material and exhibits uniquecatalytic performance for oxidation of organic compounds using hydrogen peroxide asoxidant. The Al2O3hollow fiber membrane possesses several advantages, such ashigh packing density per unit volume, large effective separation membrane area andsimple apparatus. The combination of titanium silicalite zeolite and hollow fibermembrane could enhance the specific surface area of titanium silicalite zeolite,leading to better conversion and selectivity. However, the preparation of titaniumsilicalite film on porous hollow fibre membrane has not been investigated in detail.Therefore, this paper focuses on the preparation and performance of Ti-containingzeolite films (TS-1and Ti-MCM-41) supported on the α-Al2O3hollow fibre tubes.In this paper, the TS-1and Ti-MCM-41zeolites were first synthesized usingsilicalite-1(Sil-1) zeolite as seeds. The seeding concentration and crystallization timeon the Ti-MCM-41were investigated. Then, the Ti-containing zeolite films wereprepared on the porous α-Al2O3hollow fibre tubes by secondary seeding methodusing Sil-1as seeds. The structure and performance of Ti-containing zeolites andfilms were examined by XRD, FTIR, SEM and permeation test. The main contentsand results are as follows:1. The titanium silicalite zeolite with better catalytic performance could beobtained with the crystallization time of48h at160°C. While the better Ti-MCM-41could be prepared at100°C for48h. The Ti-MCM-41exhibits pure mesoporousstructure with zeolite secondary building units using2wt.%Sil-1seeding at100°Cfor24h.2. The continuous TS-1/Al2O3composite film could be prepared using6wt.%Sil-1seeding by four synthesis times. The N2and H2permeances were6.7310-7and2.410-6mol m-2Pa-1s-1respectively.3. A thin compact layer of Ti-MCM-41/Al2O3composite film could be synthesizedusing6wt.%Sil-1seeding by four synthesis times. The N2and H2permeances were1.9810-6and6.8310-6mol m-2Pa-1s-1respectively.
