Cold roll forming as an advanced, high efficiency plate metal forming technology isthe craft that the strip steel, strip, sheet metal and other sheet are fed continuously intolateral bending rolls to produce a specific section profiles-that is cold-formed steel.Cold-formed steel as an economic section profiles with a uniform cross-section, highproduct quality, low energy consumption and economic advantages has been widely usedin construction, automobile manufacturing,aviation and other industries. Because highstrength steel have higher cost-efficiency and better mechanical properties, the cold rollforming products are increasingly wide range of applications. In order to improve theperformance of high strength cold-formed steel, improve production efficiency, it isnecessary for high strength steel roll forming depth study. In this thesis, high strengthsteel cold roll forming is simulated by large deformation elastic-plastic finite elementmethod. The main contents and conclusions are as follows:⑴The roll process by three times forming90°is three-dimensionally modeled anddynamically simulated. The first pass and the subsequent passes’s stress distribution ofthe roll process are analyzed. The analysis results show that stress distribution anddeformation conform to the actual production.⑵Four passes and five passes roll forming are modeled and simulated afterchanging the roll process.Comparing to the final version and residual stress of the threeroll processes, the four times rolling is the best choice.⑶The analysis reveals that the excessive constraints will lead to residual stressintensification, increasing the upper roll forming angle relative to roll angle by4°, it canmake the upper and lower roll form wedge space. It can better improve residual stress ofthe high strength steel cold-formed profiles and its flatness.The research achievement is instructive and meaningful to improve the highstrength cold roll forming process.
