With the further development of the research of utilization of mineral resource in recent years, the decrease of sulphide ore becomes a serious problem, which push the people to promote the technology of the oxidized ore processing. There are many problems in utilizing of oxidized minerl such as the high content slime and complex gangue minerals. As to the research of oxidized zinc ore processing, the development and utilization of those zinc ore with high content of slime and ferrum is serious problem. Previous studies always discuss this problem from the point of view of physical chemistry knowledge. In my dissertation, I would discuss the mechanism of affection of slime in froth flotation from the point of view of hydromechanics.According to the research of depressant of limonite, we confirm that mixed depressant is very effective. The best combination is humic acid sodium+caustic starch+sodium hexametaphosphate+sodium silicate. In deslime test, we find that the EDTA can protect smithsonite from being combined by flocculant. Ultrasonic can promote the dispersion of pulp and desorption of slime on smithsonite.Use the rotational viscometer to get the different viscosity under different pulp condition. Additionally, we provide a series of ways to represent the viscosity and finally we decide to use apparent viscosity (ηa) as research object. We do research on the relation of viscosity and mass concentration of pulp and we find that the relation of them can be fitted by the cubic polynomial equation. We measured the viscosities of pulp with different sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) and combined the result with the conclusion of previous conditional experiment. We found that the mechanism of using SHMP to promote the flotation of oxidized zinc ore with high content of slime include the change of viscosity of pulp. Furthermore, the lower the viscosity is, the better the flotation result is within limits. In the same way, we found the same result in the comparison of deslime-flotation and direct-flotation results. In order to find the best fluid environment, we decide to use the reduced viscosity (ηred) as the judgment indicator. Through the contrast of flotation test, we found that no matter we deslime or not before flotation under the best conditions of each of them, the reduced viscosity always be similar. That is to say the ηred can be an indicator to make a judgment of that whether the pulp environment is fit for flotation under different situation. What is more, it also indicate that the ηred can be a general indicator to determine the best flotation condition of different ore, and ηred can be a quantitative index to estimate the dispersion situation. Finally, we successfully do a tentative exploration of hydromechanics system in flotation.
