:Electrolytic manganese industry is an energy-intensive industry sectors, and about90%energy is consumed in the course of the EMM.The rising of energy prices and government raise a claim of energy conservation and emission reduction have brought tremendous pressure to electrolytic manganese industry. One of the most effective measures to reduce energy consumption is to develop a highly efficient electrolytic additive. At present, the domestic electrolytic manganese companies widely use SeO2as additives to produce EMM, while SO2is widely used as additives to produce EMM by foreign companies. The advantage of using SeO2as additives is that current efficiency can be high, while the disadvantages are that the content of selenium in product is relatively high and SeO2toxic. The advantage of using SO2as additives is that we can obtain high purity product, the disadvantages are that, current efficiency can be relatively low and SO2can bring pollution to the environment.In order to overcome the deficiencies of low current efficiency during electrolysis process and impurity product, this paper used low concentrations of SeO2as the main additive, adopted simple variable method to study the influence of auxiliary additives gelatin, thiourea, phenol, ammonium sulfite on current efficiency and quality of product, thereby developed a ideal compound additives.This paper mainly includes:1. Based on the analysis of the theory of electrolytic manganese process, we filtrated SeO2, gelatin, thiourea, phenol, ammonium sulfite as additives. First, we studied the impact of SeO2and ammonium sulfite as additives on electrolysis process and quality of product, then took SeO2as main additive, adopted simple variable method to study the influence of auxiliary additives gelatin, thiourea, phenol, ammonium sulfite on current efficiency and quality of product. The results showed that the gelatin can improve the value of current efficiency up to6%, mixed gelatin and thiourea as composit additive can improve the value of current efficiency up to8%, phenol can improve the value of current efficiency up to4%. Besides, we studied the influence of stirring on the electrolysis process, the results showed that stirring can improve the value of current efficiency more than3%, and it can reduce the cell voltage0.3to0.5V.2. Test and analysis of product by XRD and SEM, the results showed that the different types of additives have no effect on the crystalline of product, while the additives play a relatively large impact on the surface morphology. Auxiliary additives can play a role in grain refinement, and can make product density.3. Combined with all the optimal value of additives and stirring speed to do comprehensive experiment, the results show that the value of current efficiency improved by composite additives can not be equal to the value of current efficiency improved by all signal additive added together, but smaller. But compared with the value of current efficiency improved by signal SeO2additive, the value of current efficiency improved by composite additives increased by10%. And the products meet the national industry standards.4. Discussed the mechanism of product black, and proposed measures to prevent product blacked.5. Used the electrolytic solution from ore leached to do electrolytic experiment.18firgures,7tables and77references.
