In this study, molecularly imprinted polymers(MIP)of Quercetinwere first synthesized by aqueous micro-suspension polymerization, using Quercetin as the template molecule, acrylamide(AM)and modifiedrosin as the functional monomer and the crossliner, respectively. Theoptimum synthetic conditions were selected and evaluated by bindinganalysis to screen out the appropriate MIP for the following tests on thephysical characteristics, adsorptive ability and selectivity. The main workof this study is shown as follows:1. The optimum synthetic conditions were confirmed by singlefactor experiment. The optimal polymerization conditions were asfollows: the molar ratio of template︰crosslinker︰monomer was0.2︰2︰4, the porogen A was10%in the organic solvent, the dispersion agent(SDS)was0.1%in the aqueous solution, the stirring rate was260r/min-1.Its repeatability was proved good by repetitive experiment.2. The structure of the polymers was investigated by FI-IR, SEM, etc.The MIP were characterized with FT-IR, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), nitrogen surface area analyzer and Thermo GravimetricAnalyze. The results showed that there are no the template in the MIP,moreover, the MIP were loose, macroporous and sable.3. The major factors that influence the characteristic sorption forquercetin were discussed. The optimal adsorption conditions were asfollows:bottom liquid solvent was90%ethanol solution, the time ofadsorption equilibrium was3h, the frequency of oscillation was100r/min-1, the temperature of adsorption process was30℃, the size ofpolymer particles was180-250μm. The adsorption rate of the polymerswas in coincidence with Langergen quasi-second order kinetics model and the adsorption isotherms of the polymers showed that the sorptionquantity of the MIP was much larger than that of the NMIP.4. The optimal conditions were obtained by studying the desorptionof quercetin molecularly imprinted polymers. The results showed that thedesorption rate was over90%by using methanol/acetic acid(V/V=1:9)to desorb0.5h.5. Molecular recognition of MIP was discussed by the experiment ofcharacteristic sorption and selection, and the data show that for the NMIP,the absorption of the substrate is mainly non-specific, while the MIP has aspecific absorption to quercetin. |
