| The solid particles instead of surfactant can be used to stabilize the emulsion, which is called as Pickering emulsion. Pickering emulsion has advantages of good stability, low toxicity and cheap. Recently, the research on the Pickering emulsion has developed quickly and attracted more and more interests. As the solid particles instead of traditional surfactants, it can overcome several problems such as complex process, environmental pollution and high cost. Now, it has been reported that there are many solid particles used as Pickering stabilizer to prepare composite polymers with special structure, including zero-dimensional silica, titanium dioxide nanoparticles or even polymer microspheres, one-dimensional carbon nanotube, two-dimensional graphene oxide or clay sheet layer. The properties of solid particles have played an important role on the stability and style of Pickering emulsion. Not all the solid particles can be used as Pickering stabilizers due to their extreme hydrophobicity or hydrophilicity.As functional polymer materials, polymer hollow microsphere which exhibit many unique properties like low density, high loading ability and light scattering, has been widely used in the field of drug delivery, catalysis, lightweight materials and other fields. In this thesis, nonionic surfactant diethanolamine-adipic acid is used to modify silica and improve its hydrophobic. Then, the modified silica is used as Pickering stabilizer to prepare O/W emulsion and polyacrylic (PAA) hollow microspheres via Pickering polymerization. The performance about pH-response behavior of PAA hollow microspheres and loading-controlled release of Sunset Yellow are also investigated.Polymer porous materials which have good performance like large specific surface area, high porosity and lightweight, have shown important application values in many fields, such as gas storage, drug delivery, catalysis, tissue engineering and membrane separation. High internal phase emulsion (HIPE) templating method is a very important way to prepare porous materials. Comparing to conventional methods, the stable HIPE can be prepared through a small amount of solid particles as stabilizer due to their irreversible adsorption to oil-water interface.In this thesis, cationic surfactant ceyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) is used to modify the surface of silica nanoparticles and improve its hydrophobic, which has been as the Pickering stabilizer to prepare O/W HIPE. Hydrophilic porous polymer has been prepared via polymerization. The polymer porous materials have pH-response and selective adsorption of the dyes. |
