Abstract:Linear poly-terpyridine is a kind of multidentate ligand which can coordinate with transitional metal to form linear organometallic complexes. Linear terpyridine-metallic coordination polymers are the functional materials which possess the excellent optoelectronic properties. The linear electronic polymer is well-know as a variety of polyelectrolyte and capable of combining and immobilizing the transition metal anions by means of electrostatic interaction. Therefore they can be fittingly used as the precursor for preparing the tunable morphology noble metal nano-materials.Six linear rigid bisterpyridine ligands L1-L6have been successfully designed, synthesized and characterized, then their transitional metal complexes have been generated accordingly. The optical properties of these ligands and complexes have been measured using the ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer and fluorescence spectrometer. Optoelectronic properties showing that along with the conjugation degree increasing, the maximum fluorescence emission wavelength change from387nm to597nm and the scope of wavelength almost cover the whole visible spectrum. The properties of these complexes indicate that these complexes could be a good candidate of the photo-electric devices.On the other hand, linear bisterpyridine-Fe(Ⅱ) coordination polymers have been prepared and serve as the template to immobilize the AuCl4-, forming the linear polyelectrolyte precursor. The composite multi-metallic composite of gold nanowires has been employed by reducing the precursor with NaBH4. Au nanowires display excellent catalytic properties. When the mole ratio of gold atom to nitrocompound is0.054%, the catalytic rate constant has reached as high as2.4×10-3s-1. This preparation of gold nanowires has raised the new means and ideas for the noble metal nano-materials preparation.
