PM2.5(particulate matter2.5) breaks through the limit again and again in recent years, all parts of the country respond positively to bring the smog under control. There are a lot of dust sources at the construction site which are harmful for human health and nature of environment. Therefore, the dust suppression used in construction site is studied in the paper. The research of this paper is significant for environment protection, smog controlling and "green" construction.The dust suppressant was prepared by polymerization method, which made the calcium lignosulphonate-acrylamide graft copolymer with enough strength. Lignosulfonate as an industrial by-product has not been fully utilized, but become a kind of industrial pollution sources. It can be recycled by grafting copolymerization of lignosulfonate and acrylamide. High-molecular polymer was composed in the lab. By means of the orthogonal tests, the optimal reaction conditions were determined, and the performance of the dust suppressant were analysed.The properties of the dust suppressant, the preparing method, technological process, reaction condition, orthogonal test, optimization of ratio, dust suppressant character, application performance were investigated in this paper. The test results showed that:the weight ratio of the lignosulfonate and water is1:25, the initiator dosage is1×10-2mol·L-1, monocase acylamide dosage is 1.4mol·L-1, under the temperature of50℃, and compose with2hours. Water-retention rate of solid sample can be80%and over, at the same time its Shore hardness number is80HA, which indicates that it can stand against erosion. The dust suppressant can meet the requirements, which is suitable for construction site.The application performance of the dust suppressant was also characterized in this paper. All kinds of tests including strength test, viscosity test, surface tension determination, SEM analysis are performed in the laboratory. The results showed that:the viscosity of dust suppressant changed with temperatures, grafting time, the initiator dosage, the monocase acylamide dosage; The surface tension determination showed that:if the solid content is8%, surface tension can be4.5×10-2N·m-1.According to the analyzing of SEM picture, the conclusion are as follows:as the time goes by, the tightness of solid sample increases, the particle among the solid sample joint together obviously. The microstructure of the solid samples meet the requirements.At the same time, a brief introduction about the development of the dust suppressant is made in the paper. Based on present circumstances, the development of dust suppressant is influenced by many factors. According to the character showed above, the dust suppressant can be used in construction site and has broad prospects.
