The purposes of this study are to screen out low-cadmium (Cd) accumulationtomato varieties (Cd-pollution-safe cultivar, Cd-PSCs), as well as to figure out therelationship among organic acids in rhizosphere soil, Cd contents in rhizosphere soil, and Cd accumulation of tomato root under NaCl stress. In this study, pot experimentswere conducted to study the differences in Cd absorption and accumulation of29tomato varieties in the soils added with different concentration of Cd, so as to selectthe Cd-PSC. Then through NaCl stress to investigate the adaptability of tomatoesunder salt stress, and the relationship among rhizosphere soil organic acidcomposition and content, heavy metals and nutrients content and tomato roots Cdaccumulation. The results showed that:1. Cd concentrations were significant different in fruit among29tomato cultivarsunder two treatments. When the soil Cd concentration was4.28mg kg-1, there is novariety which Cd concentration of fruit below the standard, so Cd-PSC did not exist inthis treatment. When the soil Cd concentration was3.48mg kg-1, cultivarsTaiwanzhenzhu, Taiwanhuangshengnv, Huangjinyidianhong, Xin402,Taiwanhongshengnv, Yuanminghuangjiaozi and HongshiwangF1were considered asthe potential tomato Cd-PSCs.2. Under NaCl stress, shoot and root biomass of tomato had different degrees ofreduction compared to single Cd stress. Distributions of Cd and Na in tomato mainlywere in root rathan than in shoot. In both shoots and roots, the content of Cd and Nashowed significant correlation.3. The highest contents of tomato rhizosphere soil of low molecular weightorganic acids (LMWOAs) was maleic acid, while the lowest was fumaric acid. In4tested cultivars, Israel R204、HongshiwangF1、Zhongshisihao the rhizosphereLMWOAs contents had the same rules in terms of Cd contents in roots and inrhizosphere soil solution, respectively. All the tested cultivars Cd contents in rootswere consistent with that in rhizosphere soil solution.
