Botanical pesticides, which contained secondary metabolites with insecticidal activityfrom greenery, are extracted or easy processed intopestcide formulations. As a kind ofhousehold insecticide, it can effectively improve the service safety. At present, the productdevelopment of botanical household insecticide is gradually on the rise, and popular withconsumers expect.This paper carried out application study of natural pyrethrinon mosquito coil,vaporizing mat, liquid vaporizer and aerosol. The influence of different raw material,formulation and processing on the stability and the biological activity of pyrethrin wasinvestigated, and the optimun formulations of pyrethrin household insecticide wereobtained. Simultaneously, the influence of the fungicide and the aerosol packaging materialon the stability of household pyrethrin insecticide was discussed.It also carried out application study of essential oilon mosquito repellent. Theinfluence of different essential oil, film former agent and solubilizing agent on the stabilityand the biological activity of the natural repellent with p-menthane-3,8-diol wasinvestigated.The experimential results showed that, the pyrethrin applied in mosquito coil,vaporizing mat and aerosol possessed good stability and biological activity, especially inaerosol. Adding synergistic agent M5, it could improve the efficacy in vaporizing mat andaerosol.0.5%pyrethrin mosquito coil made by surface spraying on the carrier had excellentservice performance, cost and the stability. Increasing the content of charcoal powder, itcould enhance the effective volatilization rate.0.3%disodium dehydroacetate couldprevent the coil from growingmildew. The material, thickness and the heating temperatureof the vaporizing mat substrate had an effect on the vaporization of pyrethrin. With the ratioof37.5to75mg/mat for pyrethrin and M5in vaporizing mat, it had the best potency ratio.As the liquid-gas ratio of50:50v/v, it would obtain the balanced biological efficacy ofmosquito and cockroach. The formulation of1.0%w/wM5,0.5%w/wPBO and0.5%w/wS100can reduced the addition amount of pyrethrin from0.6%w/w to0.4%w/w. It was found that p-menthane-3,8-diol from eucalyptus citriodora oil had excellentrepellent effect. Essential oil had some repellent effect and accelerated the protective layerformination. But it was not long maintain efficiency. Adding film forming agent andsolubilizing agent, it can stabilize the repellent effect. Especially, the film forming agentcomposed of polyethylene glycol (PEG1450) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (K30)would reducethe inter-individual difference in protection time.
