Atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit is a leading unit in refinery, is the first step ofcrude oil processing. Atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit has an important position inthe refinery.Currently, many general process simulation software used in the domain of chemicalindustry, but there is not a special software for the design and calculation about atmosphericand vacuum distillation unit. So this paper is aimed special at atmospheric and vacuumdistillation unit, a large number of the latest calculation is collected and a systematic softwarepackage of atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit was developed on this basis.Atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit process calculation and calibration softwarepackage used VB6.0as programming tool. The process calculation part includes atmosphericcolumn process parameters design, packing process parameter design and packing calibration,plate structure design and calibration, the conversion of three oil distillation curve. Calibrationcalculation part has atmospheric distillation tower, vacuum distillation tower, heating furnace,heat exchanger and pump five calculation module, can realize the basic calculation propertiesof petroleum fractions, material and heat balance of each equipment in the unit, the key platehydraulics, tray-load performance diagram drawing, heating furnace thermal efficiency,radiation room parameters, heat exchanger heat load, coefficient of heat transfer and thermalparameters such as intensity, calculation of the pump efficiency and the whole device energyconsumption calculation. Heat transfer pinch point calculation has great significance in heatexchange network optimization. This software package also includes a crude oil evaluationdatabase, can store and deal with crude oil evaluation data, can reflect the true boiling pointdistillation data of crude oil, to provide reference for crude oil processing scheme. To assessment software package of generality and accuracy, the instances in theavailable calibration report and the literature was used to check the package. The check resultsshow: the structure the atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit process calculation andcalibration software package is reasonable, and the models are reliable, the design part canprovide a reference design, the accounting part is a powerful tool to solve the old plantmodification, expand the equipment production capacity.
