The stability of open-pit mine slope exploration is an integral part of the engineeringdesign, at the same time it is also the key points and difficulties to explore the economicsecurity of the mine. Since the development of open-pit mine engineering, continue toexpand the scale of mining and extension, open-pit mine slope instability phenomenon hasbecome increasingly serious, slope stability has become an important factor to increase themine safety production and economic benefit. This paper based on non-working slope in first mining area of the Huaxi open-pitmine, due to the area within overburden covered by quaternary aeolian sand, surface layerloess joint development, easy to form cracks even can cause circular landslide, and in strataare mainly composed of conglomerate and glutenite, combined with the rainy seasoncomes, the influence of water so the slope weakened phenomenon is serious, the slope ofthe soft rock slope for typical, slope instability is often happened. Huaxi open-pit mine isnow in the stage of first mining stripping, with the development of mining progress,non-working slope exposure time is too long to weathering serious, It is urgently needed tohelp slope stability analysis and evaluation of their non-working.In this paper through theoretical analysis, geotechnical test, the limit equilibriummethod, numerical simulation and combined with the actual research methods of Huaxiopen-pit mine of non-working slope analysis and evaluation. On the basis of the Huaxiopen-pit mine hydrology geological data, Through field investigation and the physical andmechanical test a comprehensive grasp of non-working slope geological conditions and thephysical and mechanical properties of rock and soil mass, The data basis for slope stabilityanalysis and evaluation. Using a variety of methods GEO-SLOPE software Bishop method,Janbu method, Spencer method analysis and evaluation the stability of their non-workingslope. At the same time for non-working slope by FLAC3Dnumerical simulation, throughthe analysis of internal stress, displacement, shear strain rate and cut slope should bevariable, and so on and so forth, It is concluded that the slope in a relatively stable state, Potential dangerous areas are mainly concentrated in9coal seam and9coal seam in localarea under overburden the steps above, And then verify the accuracy of the limitequilibrium theory, combining with the actual mining situation, put forward thecorresponding prevent slippery slope and governance, to ensure the safety of open-pit coalmine normal advance and production.
