Advanced composites has been widely used due to the high specific strength,specific modulus, designability and so on. In many advanced industries, it requiresthe high structural degree of integrity to improve the efficiency of the structure.Composite materials has superior conditions to improve the structural integrity,but thejoint need to transfer a larger load, so connection technology becomes more importantand pivotal.For large mechanical components, the mechanical connection has been usuallyadopted. Due to the stress concentration, the damage of composite materials occurredmainly in the connection part, so the research on the connection of the compositematerials has been significant.The main connection forms of composite materials are composites boltconnection and rivet connection, many scholars have done a lot of research on thetwo kinds of connection. The results show that the bolt connection and rivetconnection exist low efficiency and quick-wearing problems during the repeatingdisassembling process; it has been significant to improving the mechanicalconnection efficiency of the composite materials and to reduce the wearing problemduring the repeating disassembling process.In this pape, four different wire-connection resin matrix composite materialshave been prepared, and mechanical properties test were studied. With orthogonal testanalysis system, the influence on composite wire-connection between different layersof glass fiber cloth, different hole process, different deeps, different hole, differentplate width, and different resin matrix has been studied.The results show that the layer order composites had a greatest influence on thecomposite wire-connection, to put45degree layer at the outer could improve thequality of composite wire-connection strength, but to put45degree layer in the innercould decrease the quality of composite wire-connection strength; the interlaminarstrength of mechanical milling hole pattern is13.7%higher than that of mechanicaldrilling hole pattern, and it indicates that mechanical drilling hole pattern has a huger damage of the materials; by scanning electron microscopy (sem) scanning and bycomparison of the hole wall stratification under two kinds of preparation technology,we found that a large number of separation exists on hole wall between fiber andresin by mechanical drilling technique, and a bit of separation exists on hole wallbetween fiber and resin by mechanical milling technique, most fibers combinedwith the resin. It can absorb more energy under the breaking loading.The quality of composite wire-connection strength was increased by the increaseof hole deep, hole width, hole diameter. The key on the wire-connection strength ishole deep. Secondly is the hole diameter, and thirdly is the hole width; theload-carrying properties of wire-connection was increased by the increase ofadvanced resin and high strength. High temperature epoxy resin matrix compositeshas the best load-carrying properties, secondly is vinyl ester resin matrix composites,and thirdly is the normal temperature epoxy resin matrix composites, and theload-carrying properties of wire-connection of unsaturated polyester matrixcomposites is worst.
