The quality of continuous casting depends on the subsequent rolling process, yield ofsteel products, cost and etc. A good quality of casting blank is the prerequisite for hotdelivery and direct rolling. At present, China becomes the big producing country for steelsand in the application of casting process, through almost30years high-speed development,the continuous casting ratio has been reached to98%which attained to the level indeveloped countries. Meanwhile, the big sized and modern new continuous casting lineswere increasingly built up. But, after more than30years’ development, the situations ofaged equipment and backward process and technologies have been exposed in the linesamong which there are at least more than100casting lines needed to be revampedurgently. With modernized revamp for old technologies and old processes, productivitycan be increased, products quality can be improved and the cost can be reduced (includingenergy saving and environment improvement). Therefore, the revamp of old continuouscasting machines contains a big potential capacity of technical implication, and therevamp is an important channel to enhance production technology in Chinese continuouscasting.Topic from a large domestic steel continuous casting machine reconstruction project,aiming at the several main mechanical structure modification for the design and analysis,the main research contents are as follows:First chapter, It mainly describe the research background and the transformation ofpresent situation and the demand, in general the use scope and reforming, point out themain contents of this paper.The second chapter, Based on the transformation of requirements, first choiceanalysis and determined, then, to study the transformation of models of continuous casterbending and straightening method, casting speed, liquid core length, metallurgical lengthcalculation, determine the casting machine length, vertical length, radius, and give thecaster roll list of configuration diagram.The third chapter, Analysis of the two cooling system, application programs withoutpole amplitude cutting spray system to determine the gas atomized water cooling, theendless web design modeling cutting spray system and virtual assembly, and carried on the movement simulation, expounds the application results.Fourth chapter, The main components of the straight segment of the FEM analysisand structural improvement, first study the finite element model, boundary conditions andstraightening segment, and then analyzed the results, in order to improve the safety factorand the weight loss, the structure design is improved, and the improved structure isanalyzed, the modified.The research work of this thesis, transformation of large continuous casting machinewhich has a certain reference value.
