With the continuous development of information technology and networktechnology, manufacturing technology is also close to the information technologydevelopment, the key of the Manufacturing Informatization is to extract informationfrom manufacturing execution system (MES). The data interface and communicationprotocol of different NC system are also not identical, in light of the diversity of theNC machine tools, monitoring methods of NC Machine is also varied. The researchobject of this article is840D NC machine, which is the manufacture equipment forunderwater production equipment. The research on840D NC system productionprocess condition monitoring system can be divided into two categories: methodbased on machine tool electrical and based on machine tool communication, thesemethods can only monitor some state data, defect is still exist. With840D NC systemas the research object in this paper, the main research content is as follows:1.840D NC system data extracting method is put forward on the basis of storageand transmission way of840D machine data, PLC interface data and NC variable data.Meanwhile, data channel is also another planning.2. Multi Point Interface (MPI) communication is researched, and840D NCbasing on PLC intermediate variable data extraction procedure is developed, with anaim to extract PLC interface block data and NC variable data.3.The NC machine tool production status information and CNC machinerunning status information demand is analyzed based on Siemens840D NC machinetool operation characteristics. Meanwhile, the distributed collection and centralizedmanagement overall scheme of the monitoring system and monitoring systemsoftware hierarchy is planned.4. The backstage database of the monitoring system is designed and the load andefficiency statistics calculation method of CNC machine tool is studied, NC programmanagement module, state data acquisition and display module, efficiencymanagement module and on-line detection data extraction module are developedbased on VB.5. The status monitoring system is built in840D CNC testing machine. State dataof CNC system and production process are extracted by monitoring system PC. The feasibility and accuracy of the system are verified by comparing the actual data withthe monitor system state data.In conclusion, it is of important guiding significance to establish the data channelmonitoring for the Siemens840D CNC machine tool condition monitoring inproduction process.
