SINOPEC Hainan Refining&Chemical Co. Ltd started to establish0.6million ton classparaxylene production equipment since2009, and this equipment produced qualifiedparaxylene successfully on27th Dec.2013. The accumulated energy cost from January toJune in2014of this producing equipment arrived to276kg oil/t PX, which is actually globaladvanced level, while the energy cost of domestic equipment with the same scale and thesame techniques is above400kg oil/t PX at least. SINOPEC Hainan Refining&Chemical Co.Ltd reduces the energy cost sharply through fully exploiting low-temperature remaining heatfrom technique process during production, and then the ability of making profit is higher. The0.6million ton class paraxylene production equipment in Hainan Refining&Chemical Co.Ltd, which is the first independently researched and localized paraxylene productionequipment in China, has been awarded National Prize for Progress in Science andTechnology。Steam engine power unit in SINOPEC Hainan Refining&Chemical Co. Ltd isone example of making use of low temperature exhausted heat. This paraxylene equipmentSteam engine power unit in SINOPEC Hainan Refining&Chemical Co. Ltd is mainlycomposed of20-MW steam engine, QFW Brushless excitation synchronous generator series,digital electric hydraulic control system (DEH) and emergency trip protection system (ETS).Generators are driven by steam engines which need163.3t/h (design point) inputted steam,and its power output can reach up to16572kw/h. According to the study on0.6million tonclass paraxylene production equipment and low pressure steamer generation unit in HainanRefining&Chemical Co. Ltd, together with the analysis on operating data from January toJune in2014, it can be concluded that this unit saves39.18kg oil/t PX,6771-ton coal ofenergy cost and62.01million Yuan of fuel cost for Hainan Refining&Chemical Co. Ltdduring this period. Currently, domestic industry can’t produce enough paraxylene for localapplication, therefore, paraxylene requirement are still highly dependent on importation. Inaddition, the imported paraxylene have the advantage of low price, so the establishment ofarene facilities can only be driven by further reducing cost and improving efficiency. At thecurrent environment of restricting the production of high energy cost facilities in China, it isespecially important to recycling low pressure steam and low quality heat, and thedevelopment of applying low quality heat to arene facilities can accelerate the development ofdomestic arene facilities.
