The structure parameters such as the yarn color, weave, warp and weft density wereadopted to explore the relationship between these structure parameters design and fabric colors.In terms of yarn colors, the color of the weft yarns are chosen according to the fourpsychological colors, which are namely red, yellow, blue, green. At the same time, the colorof the warp yarns are set as the black and white. The five common weaves, which are plain,twill2/2, twill1/3, satin5/3, satin5/2are used in weaving the fabrics. Warp densities havea sharp change, while the weft densities have the proportional changes slightly.The validation on experiments came to the conclusion that the color of the fabric is notsimply the combination of the color yarns intensively, which are influenced by the yarn colors,weaves, the weaving technology and so on. The warp and weft colors directly affect the colorof the fabric, fabric color uniformity is influenced by fabric weaves, and the density of theyarns affects the percentage of yarns area covered in the fabric surface, thereby affecting theprimary role of yarn color in the fabric color. The combined effects of these factorscontributing to the effect that a small number of yarn colors can produce the rich colors offabric by mixing.Ultimately the final color by human eye depends on geometric characteristics and theoptical characteristics of the fabric. The optical characteristics are influenced by the reflectionand absorption, the material characteristics and other factors.The geometric characteristicsdetermine the percentage of yarns area covered in the fabric surface.To find a more accuratemodel of the geometric characteristics of fabric is very necessary. The subject study ontraditional fabric geometry model, and on this basis,a method based on the true shape of the yarns is used to calculate the percentage of yarns area covered in the fabric surface. Byverification, the accuracy of a new experimental method in predicting the color of the fabric isbetter than the traditional geometric model.According to theoretical basis, this thesis find out Glassman color prediction model, K/Scolor prediction model, and Log K/S color model, and then compared the accuracy of thethree models from the perspective of the yarn color, weave, warp and weft density. In the final,the conclusion is that Glassman color prediction model can predict the color more accurately,what is more, yarn color, weave, warp and weft density have a different influence on theprediction of fabric color.Based on the method of calculating the area of the yarns in the fabric surface coveragepercentage and Glassman color prediction model, the database which is about the parametersof fabric structure and fabric color is established. When the designers input parameters offabric structure, they can get the foretasted fabric color, which aims to solve color differenceand faced unpredictable color mixing problems in the design of woven fabric color for wovenfabric designers reference.
