The existing methods to degrade the refractory waste water are restricted by the large energy consumption, high cost, long period, complex facilities and other adverse factors. In recent years, there is another burden in water treatment because the sludge product is advanced with the growth of waste water discharge, the composition of waste water tends more complex, and all the countries in the world have been looking out for new efficient methods and technology about wastewater treatments. To develop new technologies such as hydraulic cavitation based on the application requirement and trend is of great importance in the water pollution control engineeringThis paper focuses on degradation of refractory wastewater by hydrodynamic cavitation, which is made up Venturi tube and circular orifices plates in hydrodynamics lab in Zhejiang University of Technology. Study the different combination between the Venturi tube and circular orifices plate (different diameter and numbers of holes) on degrading the simulation wastewater which is consist of nitrobenzene and p-nitrophenol, by considering the different factors such as flow, the initial mass concentration, cavitation number, initial pH value. There were the optimal geometric parameters and operating conditions in the system about the degradation rate of mixture wastewater. Plus, in the corresponding conditions, Methylene Blue as hydroxyl radical scavenger was determined and analyzed by spectrophotometer, And pressure characteristics were analyzed on five measuring points down the circular orifices plates through the YE6263pressure data acquisition system. Finally, validate the above-mentioned in the experiment by treating the actual pesticide plant wastewater. We were drawing conclusions from experiments that the degradation rate was affected by the hydrodynamic cavitation, and the degradation rate increases with the enhancement of cavitation.
