The phenomenon of transformation between solid and liquid is closely related toour daily lives, while transformation between solid and liquid of water and ice is themost common phenomenon. The research on the theory of transformation betweensolid and liquid is a multi-disciplinary study involved heat transfer, engineeringthermodynamics, rheology, condensed matter physics, molecular dynamics, etc. In heattransfer, the essence of melting and freezing are both heat transfer problems with phasechanging, which has been a hotspot in the field of numerical heat transfer in recentyears. The mainly contributions of this research are listed as follows:(1) Based on the research on the phase transition mechanism of different materials, the theory of mathematical model and parameter identification of the commonphase-changing materials were summarized, and an initial understanding of the theoryof transformation between solid and liquid was acquired.(2)Through the description and derivation of the basic laws of heat conduction andthermal differential equation, the theory of heat transfer involved by transformationbetween solid and liquid of water and ice process were finishing induced, which couldguide the subsequent study of solid-liquid changing process theoretically in somedegree.(3)In the ice-water experiment conducted in humidity field, an important conclusion that humidity can accelerate the melting was made with a series ofobservation, analysis and contrast for the process. The paper analyzed the experimentaldata and the empirical formula between humidity and melting time was gaineddepending on MATLAB software.(4)According to the simulation analysis of ice-melting process by the FLUENTsoftware, it was found that the internal temperature distribution of ice melting withhumidity differs from that melting. It was further elaborated that the fundamentalreason for the shortening of melting time by humidity was that the absence of humidityaccelerated the changing process of the internal temperature field of ice.
