Application Of Chinese Traditional Peony Pattern In Raschel Wide Lace Design

Combine peony pattern as Chinese traditional flora pattern’s representative with modernlace design and production technique to design full of Chinese characteristics’ lace. Throughincorporated with Chinese traditional peony’s characteristics and implication,this paperattempts to seek the reasonable application of Chinese traditional peony patter in raschel lacedesign, and to explore design rules and process implementation of peony pattern lace.This paper studies Chinese traditional peony’s development, aesthetic features andauspicious meaning. The paper further analyses wide lace and classifies different raschel widelace, introduces the feature of lace pattern and the scope of application. By dint of warpknitting study, my lace design experience and lace sample analysis, this text expounds theprinciples and ideas of peony lace design, intensively analyses the peony lace’s designmethods. Finally, in virtue of warp knitting technology, this article studies the selected rangeof peony lace’s raw material, detailed studies the technique method to realize the effectpicture of peony lace.The main conclusion are as follows:1) After several thousand years of evolution, thepenoy pattern has changed from the initial stage in a realistic way to abstract pattern whichemphasizes the form sense. Peony pattern has many aesthetic features, such as large corolla,broad petal and petal edge has cracks. Peony pattern also has many auspicious implies, forexample riches and honour, happy life and long-lived.2) The application of peony pattern inmulti-bar raschel lace design include pattern design, creative design, by changing thecombination of these elements, the multi-bar lace presents nationality and diversity.3) Peonylace design should take artistic beauty into account, more attention should be paid to therestrictive of technological realization. Designers should be flexibly design based on theunderstanding of the warp knitting technology.4) Adopting interesting yarns, such as fancyyarns and textured yarns, can proper perform peony pattern’s texture and lace feature.5)Thetechnique realization of peony pattern lace’s effect picture needs to guarantee thehomogeneity of sketch.This paper on the purpose of meet the needs of market，though a lot of practice research，explores a efficient and systematic methods about Chinese traditional peony pattern on theapplication of raschel wide lace and provides detailed guidance for designers.The applicationof Chinese traditional peony pattern in raschel wide lace design make the lace full of theChinese national style，promote the Chinese lace enterprises go to the world.
